The iconic Café de l’Ormeau in Ramatuelle has had a fresh makeover. After decades under the care of the same family, the trendy trio from Indie Group has taken over, staying true to their promise of keeping the soul of this beloved spot intact. With its vintage decor and an authentic menu, the charm of the place remains, inviting everyone to experience the simple pleasures of Provençal living.

Since the 1940s, Café de l’Ormeau has welcomed generations without ever losing its soul or charm. A true symbol of the village and Provençal lifestyle, it was the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike—whether celebrities or families—offering a warm, down-to-earth vibe that’s classic in the South of France. Now, the Indie Group trio, who grew up sipping grenadines at this very café, have fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking the reins. With help from architect David Granata, they’ve managed to refresh the place without erasing its history, keeping the memories alive.

The atmosphere is immediately nostalgic, transporting you to a retro Provençal café. Original features like the walnut-carved bar, cement tiles, vintage light fixtures, and shaded terrace have been lovingly restored. Antique mirrors, leather banquettes, traditional furniture, and tableware were carefully chosen, all in a soft palette of creams, old greens, and brass accents.

The menu? Pure Provençal bistronomy! Anchovy dip, pan bagnat, tomatoes Provençal-style, linguine with bottarga, fettuccine with crab meat, and French bistro classics like œuf mayo, leeks vinaigrette, and garlicky frog legs. Vincent, Raphaël, and Tobias have given us a perfect blend of nostalgia and fresh energy, taking us back to a golden era when life was just a little slower. If you squint, you can almost see French cinema legends like Raimu, Fernandel, and Pagnol playing cards and sipping pastis beside you.

For a slice of Provençal paradise and a taste of timeless tradition, Le Café de l’Ormeau is a must-visit!
